This club was initiated in 1984 and in 2024 we'll celebrate our 40th anniversary. The club is run by 13 local people who meet every month to discuss all aspects relating to the current situation. It consists of gentlemen and ladies, and every person has a task which they carry out willingly and with panache for the benefit of every member.
In 1984, several persons, some who sadly are no longer with us, sat in the local public house and decided that as they all made their individual way to every game, it would be better if it was organised to employ a local bus company to transport them. From this embroil idea, the Derby County Heanor Rams Branch was formed.
This club is ran with a chairman, vice chairman, secretary, treasurer and nine committee persons.
The officers are elected by the members every three years and the nine committee persons serve a two-year tenure.
The club has an official constitution which is reconsidered every year at the annual general meeting and amended according to circumstances which may have come to the fore during the last twelve months. We hold social evenings to raise money for local charities. An annual successful quiz night, a Christmas dinner with entertainment and the occasional Race night which is great fun. All these occasions gives great fun, great pleasure to all who participate and a reward in knowing we are giving exemptional aid to disabled children and old people, and local animal sanctuaries.
